Child Health Associates is following guidance from the CDC and the State of Massachusetts in regards to the Measles outbreaks in the United States.
At this time, the guidance is to:
- Continue to give routine MMR vaccinations at the earliest opportunity: 12 months and 4 years of age.
- Continue to give MMR to unvaccinated individuals traveling internationally or to areas with an active outbreak.
- At this time, routine vaccination of 6-11-month-olds is not recommended.
- For travelers only, MMR vaccine may be administered as early as 6 months of age. As a reminder, this dose will not count toward the routine series.
In the event of a local outbreak, we will provide recommendations from the Department of Public Health regarding MMR vaccination strategies for infants and people without documented evidence of immunity.
